Pencil cases

I made a few of these as Easter presents for my niece and nephews. I was a bit nervous, wondering how they would cope with these and not lots of chocolate. My fears were put to rest when a few weeks later my eldest nephew asked me to make five more for his friends at school!

They are very easy to make, just two rectangles (one about 7cm shorter than the other) and a piece of elastic across the front to tuck the flap into.

you never cease to amaze me...these would be great for toting my stash of colored pencils to church. coloring helps keep my children somewhat quiet during the service...quite an upgrade from the ziploc baggies!!
I love the idea of the elastic to tuck the flap in.
sounds like you may have to start some wholesale orders with your nephew! a good lesson in economics for him! ha!

Didn't have the heart to charge him for them! I was just so over the moon in a dorky aunty kind of way that he actually wanted more! I knew it could be a good economics lesson, but my nephews and nieces just melt my heart...

I make something similar for my double pointed needles. I line it with felt and then used buttons on the front to show what the size of the needles are. I like the use of the elastic, I used a button...it was a good excuse to learn how to use the button hole maker....
