200

Finally I am writing my 200th post. I've been putting it off all week. Such a big number, should I write something amazing that will stick in everyones minds? Nah, haven't done that in the last 199, why start now?

A competition to celebrate is in order. Just take a guess at what this project is and pop it in the comments box to win. I will draw a name out of a hat and the winner gets the first set of this project. A BIG thanks to Frizz for the gorgeous illustrations!
EDIT: the competition is now closed. Thanks so much for joining in on the fun. Just by having a guess you have gone into the draw to win a set of... 'days of the week' handkerchiefs!! I will draw a winner tommorow.

I'm not the only one who thinks they are day of the week kitchen towels ... are we right? :) Whatever they are, they're covered in Frizz's adorable characters - and that makes them awesome. :)

Anonymous said...

Oh this is so hard! There's seven of 'em, I see a 'Sunday'...they would be perfect for children. I'm going with kids day of the week placemats too! =)

And congratulations on the 200th post!

marirob said...

Congratulations on the 200th post! Yippee!

I love the illustrations on you fabric. Since the first one says Sunday, I'll say each one's for a day of the week... but my guess is they are tenugui (Japanese cloths) for each day of the week to wear on your head while you clean the house.

...am I the only one who does that?

leslie said...

i'm going with teatowels, too. whatever they turn out to be - they look wonderful!

flanthrower said...

Ackkkk! Soooo adorable! I *love* hedgehogs! I think they're tea towels too.

Congrats on the big 2-0-0. I'm gonna say fabric ready for undies for each day of the week. Hee hee just joking. Looks lkike the popular vote is tea towels and I don't wanna be unpopular!

Anonymous said...

Hi, It looks like day of the week cuptowels. Not sure what you call them in Australia---tea towels? Love your blog, Barb Cummins cumminsbarb@comcast.net

Soo said...

teatowels? congratulations on 200 posts!!!

Anonymous said...

Everyone else has guessed tea towels and they are probably correct but I'm going to go with handkies, cos I remember having them as a kid and these look like they would be ace for just that purpose, even if the material is a little coarse and will sandpaper your nose. We use to wrap our bus money in our daily handkies.

mel said...

i totally agreed with amanda! they reminded me of handkerchiefs i used when i was a kid. :)

Anonymous said...

V.cute illustrations! I'm going to guess day of the week napkins... though I have to say, these would also make *excellent* day o'week bibs if you were to change the shape slightly :)

Anonymous said...

An animal identification kit...and that hedgehog on rollerskates name is Sunday!!! Who knows!!!

Michal Wright-Ward said...

incredible! i hope i win these, whatever the project is. i'll guess... pillow cases?

I'll go with days of the week dishtowels too. They are incredible!

kris said...

i'm thinking some kind of days of the week calendar thingy for a kids room? they are so cute! congrats on 200.

Anonymous said...

They could be aprons - a new one for every day of the week...probably dish towels though and I think the bottom pic must be a placemat - they are adorable!!

Jade said...

Ooh, they look so cute! Are they tea towels for different days of the week?

Anonymous said...

I'm going with days of the week hankies or perhaps napkins...So so cute!
Congrats at 200 posts

paper-and-string said...

when I was little there was a craze for having pants(underpants) with the days of the week on them, but it cant be that!
Napkins, teatowels, aprons...could be!
I think they should be little simple bags with a different gift everyday :-)
whatecer they are they are cute :-)
happy 200 xxx

First thoughts (while looking at the first pic) - teatowels or curtains.
Second thought (looking at the 2nd pic) - placemats.

dutchcomfort said...

Congratulations on your 200th post! I think it could be placemats or napkins with the days of the week on it?

Anonymous said...

Cosy said...

I truly hope they are teatowels - they'd make very special teatowels. Or maybe library bags. Either way, they are delicious! Congratulations on the 200th post!

Congratulations on your 200th post. I'd say tea towels or dishtowels too. The illustrations are gorgeous!

Bibs? They look more tea towel-ish though..

Anonymous said...

I'm going to join the crowd and say day of the week tea towels! They're so cute. I may need to change my kitchen colors to incorporate red!

isabel said...

cloth dinner placemats perhaps? either way i'm loving them :)

i just found your blog and spent hours pouring over everything - you're amazing!

lu summers said...

erm...they are probably as everyone else has suggested, teatowels or placemats, but i've never been good at following the in-crowd, so i'm gonna suggest laundry bags or actually (looking more closely at the pics) as some people have suggested, hankerchiefs, as the animals look as if they have tiny hankies in their cute little paws/hands/trotters.

sooz said...

CONGRATULATIONS!! :-)

Oh my oh my - these are really lovely - what delightful characters (is that a koala on his head?!!!)

Clearly they aren't underpants, which is what first comes to mind as the only thing I have fresh each day...

They could be placemats or napkins (that would be very clean and neat and possibly beyond my current domestic practices but something I would like to aspire to and which Amy would definitely think was super cool).

Or perhaps little pockets for daily tasks or library books or assignments for school (oh, how I would have loved such organiserliness when I was a girly swot...)

Just nice things to look at?

Anonymous said...

Clearly I'm not the first, but I'm going with towels and/or placemats. And they are absolutely adorable!

Unknown said...

I am going with the majority and guessing Days of the week towels. Love the blog and congrats on the 200th post.

Days of the week towels! Although I'm number 89103498 to give this answer.....it was my initial thought when I saw them! They look great by the way!

molly | mommycoddle.com said...

since everyone guessed my first guess, I'm going to say day of the week cloth diapers. you know since babies only use one diaper per day?!! right.
whatever it is, kristen(tea towels) they're awesome!

Jannie aka Chickengirl said...

Oooh! I suspect they are days of the week teatowels that works as placemats as well. They are sooo cute!

jess said...

So cute! I'm the 65th commenter so it's kind of hard...to be original. :o) I'm guessing placemats.

Crafty Things said...

I'm going with placemats cause of the second picture. There looks to be a spot in the middle that is just right for a plate.

Anonymous said...

MMM, Yep I am guessing hankies, I have just made a batch for my beloved as I am fed up with all the toilet roll going. I am happy to wash them, so why not! Bring back the Hankie I say!

Anonymous said...

okay, it really doesn't matter what they are because they are so fabulous! frizz is absolutely amazing when it comes to animals. my guess is daily dishtowels and/or placemats, too. like i said, whatever they are, i would buy them. congratulations on your 200th post! i found you through tricia, and i will definately come back. :)

michelle said...

At first glance I thought day of the week dish towels and placemats, so I will go with that and follow the crowd! I love it no matter what it is, a great collaboration!

Looks like adorable day-of-the-week handtowels? or napkins?

Chia Chia said...

they are so cute. I would go for the 7 days wall pocket organizer for daily tasks. It could be for kids or adults....

illanna said...

Looks like hand towels for each day of the week! So cute. They make me want to embroider "Friday" on my undergarments today.

kristy said...

yep i think they are days of the week tea towels - but i would love them as wall hangings in a children's room to help them to learn words. (or in my room just because they are so beautiful!)

Di said...

I agree- very cute drawings!
My first thought was placemats for some reason, closely followed by teatowels (which seems to be the favorite comment?)
