Slippers

They've done it again. Another pair of gorgeous slippers available at evie lala. But with no babies around here to buy for anymore (my youngest is 4), these slippers inspired me to have a go at a grown up version.

The pattern comes from a Japanese book: ISBN4-579-11041-2. But I don't know the name because it's ALL Japanese. Thankfully it has very clear pictures, patterns and the measurements in centimetres!

I've used my linen 'lily pads' for the uppers and underneath it's all plain. A few layers of cotton batting are sandwiched in, but next time I will add more. A flower and lily pad received the royal treatment with some backstitiching to highlight them.

They are beautiful.
As for the baby slippers: I know the feeling. I'm always looking at those tiny little things for babies, and no baby to buy or make them for... and I'm the eldest. My brother and sister are waiting to be uncle and aunt rather then mum and dad.

What great slippers. Love your fabric and the added stitches sets them right off.

Your fabrics are amazing! This one especially (lily pads) is just ..Aah!
The slippers look nice. Makes me want to try also. It´s getting colder here(finland) day by day, so i guess it´s really time for some slippers.

these are soooo cool! love 'em. and they aren't fur lined... i think i need to make some - got to be better than my lambskin ones (and surely more environmentally friendly!).
