skirt

The bulk of my fabric arrived from the printer yesterday. And as per usual, I had to sew something straight away. A wet, gloomy day in Sydney has not been good for photo taking. So when the sun poked out from behind a cloud briefly, I was outside like a shot. And like all of my projects, this is not ironed - please excuse the wrinkles.
Fabric: 'hummingbird' in mustard and gray on cotton/linen.
PS. Alison, your piece is already in the post.

What a pretty skirt. I love the new fabric. I always like that you cute into fabric and make something right away. I always over think what I might make with fabric I buy and so sometimes it sits in my closet waiting to be used. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeousness in the extreme. I'll be back once I've emptied my moneybox and seen what's inside.

kristen -

just had to stop in and say how much i'm loving this two color design. it's a fun color combination yet totally appropriate for the sophisticated person (i.e. adults). i've always loved your work but the basic color choices always felt more crafty (pillows, bags, what not) or juvenile (great on kids not on adults). but this change to a 2-color design and the choice of muted tones/shades is wonderful! and your artwork itself has evolved quite a bit too. as evidenced by your shirt-making and skirt-making, your new patterns and colors are great as clothing!

i hope these patterns and colors keep getting printed as i'm sure you'll run out of them soon. and while i remain unemployed, i cannot justify any fabric purchases (at least until i use up a good portion of my fabric stash...)

but... i'm loving what you've been doing!!!!!!!!
