pockets

Brainstorming some ideas with my friend Monique, got me thinking about a printed fabric advent calendar. But now I need to place the pockets on, and am having major issues. I think there's a bit more work to do.

What a lovely idea! Maybe you could add the pockets to the bottom where it won't cut into the print?

I like this idea. I too am already getting stuff ready for Christmas. Lots of sewing to do again - even though I said I would never do that to myself again!

What a beautiful print - I would hate to cover it with pockets. Good luck deciding where to put them.

I love this print! I'm looking for something like it to make Christmas pyjamas (summer) for the kids. Would you be printing it on something suitable?

Awesome KD but you have stumped me with the pockets......

this is so sweet. I love those little kids in there. And that tree looks very Australian.
I too was thinking could the pockets go along the bottom. Wouldn't want to put anything over the top of the print.
enjoy your weekend,

GORGEOUS! I love, love, love this print. Please do put the pockets below so you don't cover up any of the print. I'd love to buy this print as is to use for a wall hanging for Christmas. You are so talented!

Hmmm.... how big do you want the pockets to be? Could you maybe do round pockets & place them on the edges of the tree like christmas balls?? "Round" is a bit hard to work with though? Anyway, love the print!!! Always love the prints!! J x

Love it!! Fantastic! The market is totally in need of something like this.
Like Jodie said it would depend on size. My suggestion would be to print the pockets separately and allow people to work out where to put them themselves. eg. at the bottom or around the print or on the print. Also people could then have it as a calendar or not.
It is so totally cool. Think you may need to take pre orders for this one. Will be a hit for sure xox

Lovely print. I would print the pockets and let people put them where they want, like Bianca said. Personally I wouldn't want to cover that amazing print with pockets.

It is just gorgeous. You could just stitch buttons across the buttons and hang tiny pouches from them using ribbon instead of adding pockets.

This is absolutely gorgeous. I kinda hope you do it in red as well. I agree with putting the pocket on a panel below or even on a border that goes along the perimeter. The button idea is good too. Love It!

oh my goodness! EVERY year I tell myself I am going to do a handmade advent calendar and I never get to it. Seriously, this is soooo good, kristen! Fainting....

p.s. How's passport acquisition? :)

you could have 2 strips of fabric hanging at the bottom with the 24 attatched to them ( somehow ) and make that whole section removable so as not to spoil the gorgeous panel , love it.

YES!!!
How cool is that...I'd buy that panel.
It's really beautiful!

Gosh Kristen this panel is amazing, I adore it. Personally I'd ditch the pockets as well. I'd love to hang this panel just the way it is.

Hmm can you print the very same design onto the pockets? It wouldn't be as pure... but might solve the problem!?
