Not what I expected

I made another bag from this book last week.
It didn't turn out how I expected and I didn't like it all. I was very sad that I had used my beautiful Florence Broadhurst fabric on a dud!
But then I had a great discovery! When the bag was full to the brim, I could flip up the flap and pack more stuff in.
Crisis averted the bag and I are friends again.

kristen. what do you use for your straps?? As they compliment your bags so well.

kristen! i love that bag. no need to warm up to it for me...i love the flap look, too...did you line it? it looks very nice and thick.

Thanks Molly. Yes it's lined in a thick cotton and does hold it's shape well. I will probably use wider straps next time though.

Belinda - sent you an email about the straps.

I actually prefer it with the contrast flap - it's lovely. Fabric is gorgeous, natch.

Glad it worked out well in the end!

Great job on the bag, I wish all mine had expanding space - I have some much stuff I carry around!
