My little one turned 4 yesterday! We went and looked at some sand sculptures at Fox Studios and then off to 'Meet the Robinsons' at the movies. We tried to go to a restaurant afterwards for dinner, but made the mistake of parking near McDonalds. We went into the restaurant (Big John's) but all Jack wanted was rice or chips - neither was on the menu. It was when he said 'it's my birthday and I want Mcdonalds' that we caved. You are only 4 once. 
And because I don't really bake much, I found this perfect cake that will be used for many more birthdays to come...

Happy 4th Birthday! Our oldest is 4 1/2 and that birthday cake would have come in handy on her 4 1/2 birthday. We had a baking party and sang "Happy Half Birthday To You". Sounds like you had a great time, even if it involved going to McDonalds.
