smurfs + chocolate

Oh to be a smurf. What a simple life. Will Gargamel eat me today?
The kids nagged me to let them play with my toys. Half are my original smurfs from the '70s and half I bought for them over the last few years. Kind of a 'I loved them, so you will too' present. I think Homer is having an identity crisis.

Then I had some bad news about my car today. Could cost me $80 to fix, or thousands. Yes, it's true. I will find out tomorrow, if I decide to get out of bed. So to drown my sorrows and celebrate another basketball win (2 in a row!) I bought this choc mud scone. Perfect with a tall glass of milk. It makes everything seem better for a few minutes. I love the packaging. No, if I'm in a bakery I'm not looking for a 'slim snack'.

*lol* Love the top photo of Homer surrounded by the smurfs. He definitely does look a little dazed and confused :D

That is one mean smurf collection. I have fond memories of hassling my father to buy his petrol at BP so as I could buy a smurf. And my sister had a smurf LP. There was one song on it called "Smurfin' Beer". It went "Beer, beer, smurfin' beer. You don't get drunk and it isn't dear". It was before it's time. Homer would have liked it.
PS. I could live on BD chocolate mud scones ....

What a pity you're not my neighbour 'cause my husband would have repair your car (he's a mecanic teacher and also he works on cars after school !!) for the cheapest price on earth (or for swap ;-) ahahahaha) And.. do you know Smurfs are belgian ??!!! Yes, your kids play with pure belgian creation !! (well maybe producted in China ;-) !) we call them in french : "schtroumf" that is more difficult to say ahahaha Hugs to you sweetie

How coincidental! I just asked my husband yesterday if he collected Smurfs when he was little - my friend had a fishbowl full of them as one of her rellies was a truck driver and picked them up at BP stations on his travels - I was soooooo jealous! I think my sister and I had two!! Your fabrics are fabulous and the pencil cases are just wonderful :D

That first picture kinda gives the impression that the Smurfs are holding Homer captive... or that Homer has infiltrated the Smurfs and is trying not to be noticed!

Mmmm... I could use one of those choc mud scones too. Yum!

Hoping tomorrow's car news is good...

this is awesome! my cousin sent a link to your blog, and I feel so great after a blah day. thanks! (I'm a huge smurf collector, but my son isn't really interested in playing with them for some reason. ??) I have the "smurfing beer" song too--it's on Father Abraham in smurfland, very surreal. cheers, marykate
