This takes me back. Way back to when I was about 7 years old, stitching at my Grandma's on her front porch. I used to love those pieces of pre-printed fabrics you would just stitch along the lines.
I had them all in a blue rafia sewing box until a few years ago when in a rash moment of cleaning I took one last look and threw them all out. I have these moments every few months. I'm not alone in this am I? You know the type of day when you wake up and a few bags of unused stuff at the front door ready for charity/rubbish is the goal for the day and once done feels very, very good.
So now I'm building up a new library of hand stitching. My own designs. Hopefully not to be binned this time. I can see this design on a crisp white pillow cover.

OMG Annie is going to pop a valve when she sees these.....
Beautiful stitching!! I adore the design you made...
The feeling of throwing old stuff away is familiar to me - sadly I always regret when it's too late ;0)
My grandmother taught me how to embroider too, and for my 8th or 9th birthday she gave me a little box full of goodies for embroidering (I wish that I still had that one ;0))
Jodie knows me too well!!!!! - I still have my knitting nancy on an old cotton reel, and the knitting still on it!!!!! I don't get those cleaning frenzies very often.
What a great design. Are you making this design available for purchase at all?
Beautiful stitching! I also have lots of embroidered pieces of fabric waiting to be put to good use.....or thrown out!
Oh, I love those embroidered ladies. I like to do that kind of embroidery, but hate cross stitch. We just don't get along.
She looks perfect!
Hi Kristen,
It was a pleasure to meet and talk with your today at the S&C. Your fabric is amazing and inspiring.

Hope you had a great time at the show. I'm so excited to see and read that you are working on some new designs for embroidery. Can't wait to see more!
Warmly Lenna
A hand stitching library. A hand stitching library!! So poetic and inspiring.
It was lovely to meet you the other day. As predicted, my daughter adored the brooch. Damn!!
By the way, I absolutely adore that peacock print you show in your "long journey" post. Was it at the Show??? Can I perhaps purchase some??? I'll tell you why...I wrote a short story several months ago called "The Mother Ring" and it features a peacock appearing in the protagonist's courtyard one snowy night. The next morning, the protagonist packs her little bag and goes off on a journey!!!
That stitching is absolutely perfect. How lovely.
