Taking time to slow down, look around, and start designing again.

cuckoo

Finally, I have listed this design in my shop. I designed this one for the Melbourne Stitches and Craft show earlier this year. I have since done a second print run and there are a few available here.
And as my friend, Angela, once told me 'Donkeys are the new owl.' - pass it on!

for Caia

My little friend, Caia,  turned one last week. I made this dress for her today - she was not so impressed as it wasn't a toy, but her mummy liked it.

2 shops

I'm trying out a new online shop. A place where you can find a few things that I sometimes sell at markets.
First cab of the rank are my new totes. Printed up for the recent Finders Keepers market, they were a great success.
You can buy one for yourself here.

catching up

I forgot to take my camera, again. So thanks to Alison for these pics.
The Finders Keepers market on the weekend was the 'best ever'. Having my two pals there (Alison and Shannon) made it even better. Thanks to everyone who shopped and said hello.

cherish

I forgot to take photos at the last Stitches & Craft show in QLD. Doh. But I can talk about a few of the highlights for me.
1. Hanging out with many fellow bloggers (too many to name).
2. BBQ on Southbank after work on Friday night - thanks Ellie and Sam.
3. Meeting people that actually read my blog (blush).
4. Signing some books - woohoo/blush!
5. Meeting Kylie from Paper Boat Press. I have to confess right here that I might be a bit of a groupie, you see I have a passion for ceramics and Kylie and Mel have to be my favourites. So when I was introduced to Kylie I has to stop myself from jumping up and down like a nutcase. But I think she might have noticed my excitement.
6. Eating breakfast two days in a row at French Twist with Sandra.

the book

I don't think I've mentioned this, but the book is out! And I'll be taking some copies to sell at Brisvegas with me (Stitches and Craft Show). And if you want to buy one, I could be persuaded to sign it (pretending I'm crafty fame) and my pal, Lara, will be just a few stalls away - she's in the book too, then there's Nikki she's going. So you could get quite a scoop.
If you can't make it to Brisbane, I'll be sharing a table at the Finders Keepers Market in Sydney, with Alison. And quite the coincidence, Shannon will be right next to us. And surprise, surprise - we are all in the book AND will be selling copies there too.

OK. Plug over. Must go to bed.

Saints & Pinners

There's a lot going on here behind the scenes. Mostly packing, folding, invoicing. Not so much exciting sewing! I have a few new international stockists and will attempt to introduce them soon.
Here's one that has just started up and looks lovely! Saints and Pinners - thanks for your support girls.

(you will find my fabrics in the patterns section)

muddle

This is what my brain feels like at the moment. And I don't think 2 weeks of school hols is going to help!

more stitching

This has been in my hands the past day. Waiting for kids to come out of class. Watching over the homework and finally late at night in front of the TV.

baby quilt

I was asked by a friend to make a quilt for her sister's new baby. I had made one for her other sister two years ago. When it comes to quilts I don't have a lot of patience, so it's big squares all the way.

When I want something detailed, I pass it on to the experts! My lovely Aunty Fuzz is dreaming up something for me to take to the Brisbane Stitches & Craft Show. Can't wait to see that.
I finally tried out my walking foot that had been sitting in a box for a year. And had to laugh at myself as it wasn't put on right and didn't walk at all. Didn't realise this until I had finished.

Fabrics: Blue fabric - Lara Cameron, Pink spot - local craft shop, Red and lavendar fabrics- Kristen Doran Design.

Sewn by: squares sewn up by my pal, Rebecca. Quilted by me.
