This project is something I have wanted to do for years, but just have never gotten around to it. The covers that I have seen at the markets are always made of white lace and I just don't think that suits a house with 3 boys. The pattern didn't quite work out, the top bits weren't wide enough to cross over each other. But the main thing is - this definitely is not too girly.
The bottom has a piece of elastic from one end to the other, so the box can be tossed around the lounge room like a football (this happens often when we are to lazy to get off the lounge). I even sewed my label in a loop at the end so the super slothful can put their finger in it and fling it across the room! Now you have a small insight into life in a small house and being the only woman amongst three males.

Oh that tissue box cover is gorgeous! I love your bunnies and bears and bags and designer girls ... just fantastic. You have such a wonderful eye for design :)
Happy birthday for the other day, and thanks so much for your kind comments on my illustration, too!
I love the image of that box flying around the room, just in time for the football season!
Commiserating from a women who too knows what it is like to be the only one in a house of three males. Oh, oh, oh what are we in for?
Great tissue box cover! I tried this out last year for a friend of mine. I used felt and only got as far as the protype and then moved onto a new project (that craft ADD thing!).
Great box cover! I love the fabric, it's so bold.
What a clever idea. I need to make something like this, as I am always trying to find tissue boxes that match with my decor. I love the fabric you chose.
That tissue box is just begging for a tutorial. As a mother of two small, and at the moment very snotty, boys I would be sewing up a batchload!
Fantastic...what a great idea with the elastic underneath!!!
i LOVE it. I have never seen one of these that was remotely attractive, but yours is awesome. I would actually put it somewhere on display in my house, vs. hiding the box of tissues in the corner somewhere.
I'm continually amazed by how talented you are...I love all the stuff you make, the colors you put together, the fabrics! that idea board below is a total one to covet ( i will repent later)...i don't know if i would want to cover it up with anything!
And, since this is already a really LONG comment--thank you so much for the bunny pattern. That is so sweet of you to share. I'm going to try to whip up one for each of the girls before easter. if i can ever get time to sew without them looking over my shoulder...xx.
