It really does...

Have you heard of the saying "pride comes before a fall"? I proved this theory right a few weeks ago.

The beautiful Didine made me a tissue holder and I thought it a great idea to make one for my Mother-in-law for her birthday. I turned Didine's inside out and thought - easy. I can do this. Big mistake thinking that. I made no.1 and it was too small. I made no.2 and still too small. Then I made no.3 and it was just right. If this was Goldilock's world that would be normal, but I'm not used to making something over 3 times in one sitting.

The kids claimed the dud ones and chose their own buttons - interesting? So here are the 3 for you to have a laugh at and enjoy the knowledge that we all stuff up sometimes.

Here is the final gift.

Hi!
Ok! I laughed... not very loud, but I did!Sorry... It happens to me too, thinking: "oh, this is so easy, I can make it!" but when I'm trying to do it I realise how stupid I was... well it happens! Your third experience turned out quite well! I like it. bye, manela

So nice to know that I'm not the only one that makes mistakes! But we learn from them...and your kids are using them anyway...so in the end it all worked out fine!

Oh, but they're so pretty, even if a bit too small.

My first one was waaaaay too small, but I refused to let the bits of linen I used for them go to waste, so I took out the tissues from a travel pack, folded them in half and shoved them into the too-small holder. My 5 yr old has it in her backpack.

Tissue holder the second was also a smidge small, but it works fine. It became a gift.

I can only imagine and hope that tissue holder the third will be perfection. You give me hope!

Hehehe - sounds like tissue manufacturers are the ones to blame here - if they can't make tissue fit cute holders, then they should hand over production to someone with the right priorities. : )

ahahahahahahahaha you're too funny !! You know even if I already made dozen of these I still need to compare with one already made to see if the size is correct LOL !! I love yours because the fabrics are sooooooo beautiful !! Big smooches !

Totally understand...reminds when I refuse to spend 10 seconds to take out a ruler and measure something ("I'm sure that's 5 inches") and of course it ends up too short or something!

Oh I have been there too.

Actually I was on a roll a few weeks ago and made quite a few of these. Then went and bought some packets of tissues......and I think I made them all wrong....unless the idea is to take the tissues out of the plastic ......is it??????? Just that the opening of the plastic is at the short end....and i am just a bit confused.

Yours look great though!!
