This is my current WIP (who am I kidding, there's more than one unfinished WIP around here). It's a blouse I'm trying out and it takes me back to my college days attempting to set in a sleeve. There were a few things that I would always try to avoid and gathering in the head of a sleeve is right up there. No reason... just one of those things. Like washing a lettuce - another on the list of tasks I like to avoid but has to be done.
The lovely armless model for this garment is "Bertha the busty dummy". She has been tucked away in my parent's attic for probably 15 years and has survived amazingly well. Just one bit of silverfish nibble to the left breast!

Oh yes, I hate easing the sleeve too. And washing lettuce!!
Love the fabrics. The sleeve is fabulous.
I worked at head office of Liz Davenport ("fashion" designer) and used to love watching the seamstressess setting sleeves, they just wizzed around them in 2 seconds flat and they were always perfect. I could have watched them for hours! such talent.
i think i just want to come over for a few nights of sewing lessons. i love seeing all the stuff you're doing lately.
by the way, i've got a big bag full of ribbon here with your name on it! i found some good stuff, i think...and some for me too. we'll having matching stashes.
i'll put it together with those buttons and pendant for you asap. look at my shop, is there anything in particular you like? otherwise, I think i might have another blue pendant like the one you ordered floating around...
oooh, I am so intrigued by what this blouse must look like! Such pretty fabric.
I am still in love with chocolates and blues together. My bedroom is getting painted that lighter blue color one of these upcoming weekends. The sleeve is beautiful as well as the fabric.
That top is looking amazing, I just love your fabric combos and how you put it all together. Love how you named your armless model dummy :)
That fabric is gorgeous Kristen!
The sleeve looks impeccable, can't wait to see the finished garment.
