It's a pirates life for me...

My boys are away camping and I am working on a surprise to leave on their pillows for when they return. There is always a lot of talk about pirates, treasure and sword fights around our place. That thought inspired this little guy. I can't show it all - I'm 99 percent sure my boys don't read my blog, but what would happen if they stopped at an Internet cafe on the way home and happened to take a look? The fact that they are 6 and 3 yrs should really put my mind at ease with this idea, but I'm not going to risk that irrational 1 percent. (That's a felt bird velcroed to his shoulder if you can't tell, there's also a headscarf, eyepatch and earring not in shot)

I love this monkey made by Fiona last year, and I'm sure that pirate idea has stayed in my head until now. She is truely a talent to make all those toys. After spending hours (and I'm too embarrassed to say how many) making just one pirate for Jack, I had to have a days break before embarking on another for Harry.

On another note, I was able to pick up some more canvas for printing owls and botanicals yesterday. In the bags sitting nicely on the floor are stone, blue, donkey and olive cotton canvas all waiting to be cut up and sent to the printers. Thanks to everyone who bought some fabric last week and I hope everyone has their order in their hands by now or very soon.
