A textile designer friend (hi Bettina) has informed me that 70's geometric prints are the next thing in Australia. Not sure if I like that idea. I was born in the 70's and have some vivid memories of brown and apricot curtains that my Mum let me choose for my bedroom. Then of course I had to have the matching apricot walls.
So I borrowed a book from the library to get me over the 70's fear of massive geometric prints in hideous colours. And now I'm thinking it wasn't all that bad...

that book looks great! i remember some seriously hideous brown+white geometric patterned wallpaper that was in my parents' house when i was a kid. and navy+white too. so dark! so 70s! but so loveable as well :)
I'm not at all surprised about that - 70s prints being the next big thing! Many crafters are using all that stuff already. I had amazing wallpaper as a child - dark blue with big red trees with birds and a girl standing underneath - very finnish. I love the look of that book. What's it called?? I NEED it!
andi.
oh yes! bring it on! I was born in '67 and I had and orange and yellow themed room and my sister had purple and aqua! They weren't afraid of colours in those days and the music was the best, don't you just want to "shake your grove thang", ah memories. Tks for sharing.
Oooh 70's trend hey. I don't think it's all that bad, and geometric designs are fun to do. hmmmmm
Isn't it amazing how everything old is new again?
Gorgeous! I love the early 70's prints and shapes, very inspirational!
Wish i could flip the pages of that book you've found!
This is all gorgeous - bring it on I say!!
